Lorène Picard
↑

Lorène Picard's research sits within a critical approach to the digital, encompassing the analysis of artistic and design projects, the history of techniques, as well as the technical, social and economic contexts of dematerialisation. She is currently examining how the concept of repertoire can foster genuinely interdisciplinary approaches and innovative models for arts dissemination on the Web.
Her methodologies include qualitative analysis of artistic corpora (art studies and qualitative research in the social sciences) as well as counterfactual histories methods (critical and speculative design, J. Auger, J. Hanna). Her background in critical design and visual communication led her to participate in collective exhibitions and research-based design projects.
Her installations are hybrid and interrogate the deconstruction of digital phenomena through computing technologies (object-oriented programming, Kinect, projection, mobile screens) as well as material exploration (multiple prints, Web, space-related materials, etc.).
